Purpose of Position:
This position will be responsible for the direct supervision of the accounts payable staff. Reviews and audits all entries and maintains the general ledger entries in SHARE for six funds through which the State Land Office operates, with an operating budget of over $13 million in investment funds, capital project funds of $1.7 million and over $400 million in clearing accounts. This position prepares internal financial statements and reconciles with Department of Finance and Administration. This position will devote a substantial portion of time assigning and directly supervising two FTE, providing oversight by reviewing and auditing financial documents, acting upon leave requests, conducting annual performance evaluations, recommending disciplinary actions, mentoring and training, as well as interviewing and recommending selection of applicants. This position assists external auditors in verifying and identifying transactions, balances, encumbrances, budget and expenditures. This position maintains and develops management reports used in decision making processes to evaluate the agency’s budgetary condition.

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Auditing or Business Administration and two (2) years directly related work experience in accounting, auditing, finance and/or budgeting. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling six (6) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver’s License.

Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required.
