November 2016 Newsletter

Welcome AGA New Mexico Members!

It is hard to believe that the month of November is already here and it’s full steam ahead. I know that all accountability professionals have been hard at work completing their audits while still working on daily operations that continue in the present fiscal year. Multi-tasking and time management are the status quo for those in financial management. I believe that all you professionals should take a moment to pat yourself on the back for all the hard work you do.

The 2016-2017 AGA Program Year is almost halfway through and there are many events to come. The annual statewide Professional Development Training (PDT) will be held the third week of April 2017 in Albuquerque, so please save the date to attend this exceptional annual training event. The Chapter will be hosting a webinar on November 16 with the topic “Tools and Strategies for Fighting Fraud.”

The November luncheon will be held on November 17 at the Del Charo Restaurant in Santa Fe. The speaker is Mary Jo Lujan of the New Mexico General Services Department – Risk Management Division. The Chapter is also participating in the National Food Drive Challenge. Non-perishable food items can be donated at the luncheon and webinar events. In this month of Thanksgiving please consider bringing items to donate to help all New Mexico families celebrate this season. And speaking of being appreciative, please thank a Veteran. Their service to our country allows us to practice our profession and live a life style in a manner that is indicative of free will.
